Archive Sizer
The ULTIMATE File Splitter
--------------------------
Version 2.0, Release Date 01-21-93.
Announcing the latest innovation in splitting files, Archive Sizer
(AS). AS has two modes of operation; splitting archive files and
splitting ANY file. AS has the following features:
For splitting archive files:
* Extremely fast operation. AS accesses the files directly. It
doesn't use the archive software that created the archive in the
background.
* When splitting archive files, the new archive files that are
created are fully compatible with the software that created them.
If you split a ZIP file, the new files will be ZIP files.
* AS supports splitting the following archive file formats:
* ARC created by System Enhancements Associates ARC software.
* ARJ created by Robert K. Jung's ARJ software.
* HYP created by P. Sawatzki and K.P. Nischke's Hyper software.
* LZH created by Haruyasu Yoshizaki's LHA software.
* ZIP created by PKWare's PKZip (TM) software.
* Option to delete the original archive file when successfully done
splitting the file.
* Option to create new archive files that will uncompress to the
user requested size.
* Option to keep backup files in ARJ 2.30+ compatible files.
* Supports splitting files to floppy drives.
For splitting ANY file (to *.AS files).
* Two levels of CRC-32 protection. This guarantees file integrity
when a file is split and then later reassembled.
* Display the contents of an *.AS file.
* Supports splitting to and reassembling from floppy drives.
Common features of both methods.
* User gets to specify the maximum size of the resulting files by
using either the preferred size in bytes or the handy parameters
that support all of the common disk formats.
* Option to keep the date/time of the file that is being split or
use the current system date/time for the new files.
* Option to force splitting of files to use the *.AS file format
instead of the default archive format.
* Ability to create the new files in the destination of your choice.
If a floppy drive is selected, AS will prompt for new disks, etc.
* Option to display how many new files will be created using the
given file and requested size.
* Option to display the smallest possible value that AS can split
the given file.
* Option to leave a user defined amount of free space on the first
file.
